The 5th International Conference on Climate Change 2021 – (ICCC 2021) which will be held 18th – 19th February 2021 virtually, Under the theme “Sustainable Development and Climate Change in Developing and Least Developed Countries ”.The conference was hosted by The International Institute of Knowledge Management (TIIKM), Association for Environment Management and Sustainability, De La Salle University, Philippines, Malaysian Nature Society (MNS), Environmental Foundation Limited, in collaboration with the International Institute of Knowledge Management (TIIKM).
ICCC 2021 covered a range of disciplinary areas such as policy and law, Environment, technology, career and employment opportunities, to name a few along with the speeches from renowned speakers, best presentations, roundtable discussions, and networking opportunities. Moreover, the conference welcomed 60+ participants from 20 countries around the world.
The opening remarks of ICCC 2021 were made by the Conference Co-Chair have Prof. Erandathie (Erandi) Lokupitiya (Professor in Environmental science, University of Colombo, Sri Lanka), Prof. Fredolin Tangang (Chairman & Professor, Centre for Earth Sciences and Environment, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, Malaysia) and representing hosting partner university Dr. Raymond is the Vice Chancellor for Research and Innovation, De La Salle University, Philippines together with Mr. Isanka P. Gamage (Conference Convener/Managing Director, The International Institute of Knowledge Management).
The Keynote forum was represented by Dr. Fahad Saeed from Climate Scientist, Germany under the title “Climate Science and Ambition to Achieve Sustainable Development in the Context of Paris Agreement” and Prof. Pete Smith from University of Aberdeen, Scotland, United Kindom under the title “Soils for Mitigating Climate Change and Underpinning the Sustainable Development Goals”. Mr. Ranga Pallawala, Climate Finance Advisor, The Commonwealth Secretariat from Sri Lanka was one plenary speaker of the conference and he delivered his talk under the title “Climate Change: Policies, Business and Finance”. And second plenary speech delivered by Prof. Ahmad Ismail ,Faculty of Science, Universiti Putra Malaysia under the title of “Climate Change: Strategies for Biodiversity Conservation”.

ICCC 2021 consisted of over 60+ participants from 20 countries around the world, including Sri Lanka, India, United Kingdom, United States, South Africa, Philippine, Indonesia, Japan, Uganda, Turkey, Bangladesh, Spain, Kenya, Colombia and Australia. The Conference provided an opportunity for delegates to share their valuable knowledge of Climate change and environment science from various perspectives. This conference had representation from almost every continent and regions across the world, to share views and ideas on climate change issues, network with international colleagues and made the conference a meaning the full opportunity for engagement.
ICCC 2021 comprised of four (4) technical sessions. The technical sessions were under the below themes.
ICCC 21 and Center for Natural Sciences and Environmental Research (CENSER), De La Salle University Philippines in collaboration with the Association for Environment Management and Sustainability (AEMS) was organized SYMPOSIUM under the theme of “Understanding the Relationship of Climate Change on Agriculture, Environment, and Health: The Case in ASIA”
Symposium Included three technical sessions under the main area of Impact of Climate Change on Agriculture And Environment and Impact of Climate Change on Health. There were 15+ speakers and two keynote speeches from Dr. Raymond Girard Tan (De La Salle University, Philippine) under the title of IMPACT OF CLIMATE CHANGE ON AGRICULTURE AND ENVIRONMENT and Dr. Thaddeus Carvajal (Ehime University, Japan) under the title of Climate Change and Dengue.
Through the publication workshop, it was intended to disseminate knowledge on writing scientific papers and scholarly publications to assist future researchers. The workshop was moderated by Prof. Alberto Arenas (Environmental and Sustainability Education College of Education at the University of Arizona United States And Editor-in-Chief of The Journal of Environmental Education). The Perspective of the publication workshop was to assist researchers who write full papers with the aim of publishing in a reputable journal or in a reputable proceeding. Through this publication workshop, the facilitator was able to disseminate knowledge on writing scientific papers and scholarly publications for future researchers. All conference participants were delighted and graced by this opportunity.

The panel discussion focused on climate change in the Asian region and how it affects humans and other living organisms and the overall impact on society.
The panel was comprising well-known industry professionals and climate experts in Asia representing both public and private sectors. During the discussion, panelists were highlighted the main issues we have to face due to climate change, what are the actions we can take to overcome these barriers, and how we can adapt to these changes and mitigate its effects through building resilience. The panel was consist of three members and a moderator. They covered all the affected areas and potential solutions for those during this discussion.
All full papers opting for conference proceedings will be subjected to double blind peer review process. The e-version of the conference proceedings will be published with ISSN 2513-258x and DOI prefix: 10.17501.
Conference proceedings will only be provided in the electronic format and upon publication papers will be archived in TIIKM Open Journal System (OJS). Authors and readers are free to view and download the full-texts of published papers.
