
The 3rd International Conference on Climate Change ’19 – (ICCC 2019) was organized by The International Institute of Knowledge Management (TIIKM), Sri Lanka in collaboration with Universiti Putra Malaysia, Malaysia and Hacettepe University as the Co – Hosting Partners of the conference. The Colombo Plan, Sri Lanka, Malaysian Nature Society, Environmental Foundation, and Thuru, Sri Lanka became the successful strategic partners of the Conference.
Inauguration Ceremony
The Conference was held on 21st – 22nd February 2019 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia under the theme “Adaptation and Mitigation in practice: Local and Global innovations”. ICCC 2019 was chaired by Dr. Erandathie (Erandi) Lokupitiya (Professor in Environmental science, University of Colombo).
The opening remarks of ICCC 2019 were made by Conference Chair Dr. Erandathie (Erandi) Lokupitiya (Professor in Environmental science, University of Colombo) together with Mr. Isanka P. Gamage (Managing Director, The International Institute of Knowledge Management). The most significant event during ICCC 2019 was the participation of Honorable Minister Ms. Yeo Bee Yin (Minister of Energy, Technology, Science, Environment and Climate Change, Malaysia).
Keynote Forum
The 3rd International Conference on Climate Change ’19 – (ICCC 2019) was a great platform for researchers, academicians, scholars and activists worldwide and members of professional bodies to exchange their newest knowledge.
Keynote forum was one of the most significant moments during the Conference and it was enlightened by three keynote speeches.
The first keynote speech was done by Asst. Prof. Masayuki Kondo (Center for Environmental Remote Sensing (CEReS), Chiba University, Japan) on the topic “The Effects of Land Use Changes on Current Terrestrial Carbon Cycle”. The second keynote speech was delivered by Prof. Dan Binkley (Emeritus Professor, Department of Ecosystem Science and Sustainability, Colorado State University, USA) on the topic “Insights on Sustainability for a Changing Future”.
The third keynote speech was delivered by Prof. Dr. Ahmad Zaharin Aris (Dean, Faculty of Environmental Studies, Universiti Putra Malaysia, Malaysia) on the theme Climate Change: Are the Small Islands ‘Drowning’?.
